When I heard the announcement over the radio yesterday that 40 million people among us are HIV/AIDS victims, the first thought that came on my mind was how many countries have 40 million or less inhabitants. Obviously my motherland Kenya, adopted Tanzania and Uganda have all their populations ranging between 25 to 40 million. And another stark reality: that Sub Saharan Africa still has some of the highest infection rates, and so does Eastern Europe and Asia. then came another grim picture: that more women are infected than men (quite against nature!) and that the most victims are between 15 and 24! I am still in this age group, and so are millions of people out there! As you are reading this, someone has just got infected, someone is getting infected or someone will be infected! Is it you? Over to you!
